Volunteering FAQs

HOW MUCH TIME DO I HAVE TO COMMIT TO?

We meet once a week on a Tuesday from 09.30am – 1pm; but you do not have to come every week and you can stay as long as you feel happy to.

 

DO I HAVE TO HAVE ANY QUALIFICATIONS?
 

None at all; just a love of the outdoors and a willingness to get stuck in to most jobs.

 

WILL I RECEIVE ANY TRAINING?


Yes, if the task you are asked to do needs training, you will be shown by another experienced volunteer or go on a training course. This would be for things like tree pruning or using specialist equipment.


DO I NEED TO WEAR SPECIAL CLOTHING?


As most of the jobs are outside; all you need to wear is gardening clothes and a good strong pair of boots/shoes, and maybe bring your own gardening gloves, we have a plentiful supply but not always the right size.


DO I NEED TO BRING ANY TOOLS WITH ME?


No, all tools and equipment will be supplied by the trust.
