School Visits

As a CEVAS Accredited Venue bridging farming with education, we provide an engaging opportunity for children to discover nature in its purest form. Our experienced volunteers guide children in bug hunting through woodlands, identifying wildflowers and grasses in the orchard, exploring pond life, and visiting the Hovel. October apple pressing is a favourite, highlighting harvest and seasonal themes.

The agricultural history of Cleeve Prior unfolds within former farming structures, illustrating the evolution of this settlement. School reviews are consistently excellent, with many returning for repeat visits. To see some pictures and read some lovely reviews, just scroll down!

Our enclosed gardens, complemented by covered spaces, provide an ideal setting for music, art, and performance activities that enrich nature education. Currently, our dedicated team of nine enhanced DBS volunteers, along with occasional participants, shares a common goal: to ensure visiting children enjoy a supportive, safe, and enjoyable environment during their time with us.

Costs

Subject to availability - visits led by teachers bringing groups from their schools are funded by grant aid, from Natural England. Your only costs are coach hire! When grants are no longer available the cost per child is £6 per day. Adults are free.

Where fees are applied you will receive an invoice by email. Invoices must be paid in full within 30 days of the invoice date. Once the payment has been received you will receive an email confirming the invoice has been paid.

I just wanted to formally say a huge thank you for a fabulous trip last Friday.  Here are some soundbites for you from the children:

'That was the best school trip ever!'

'I really loved making apple juice and it was delicious to drink too!'

'I loved hunting for minibeasts - I even found a toad!'

'My favourite part was the adventure walk into the woods.  I thought I might see Big Foot!'

One of my helpers said 'It was clear that the volunteers at CPHT are incredibly passionate about what they do.  They are knowledgeable and are keen to share their enthusiasm with the children.  It was a super day for us all & I thoroughly enjoyed it.'

I have received some really positive feedback from parents who have told me that their children were buzzing after the trip, in fact, one of my Year 1 girls tried to show her family how to make apple juice this weekend!

Many thanks once again for such a range of fabulous experiences that will remain with our children for quite some time to come.
